Double layer tile lining for irrigation channels consisting of 10mm thick cement mortar 1:5 on sub- grade, first layer of 5.08 cm. thick tiles 30.48 x 15.24 cm laid in 1:5 cement mortar as mentioned above, Sand-wiched plaster 1:3 cement sand mortar 16mm thick, Second layer of tile 5.08 cm thick laid in 1:3 cement sand mortar with 6mm thick layer of mortar over sand-wiched plaster :- the above gives total thickness of lining 13.36 cm On side slopes Upto 3.5 ms height above bed level.
